Thursday Night Live with Robert Elms

... every summer for the past 12 years The Serpentine Gallery have created a temporary pavilion that sits on the lawn in Hyde Park outside the gallery itself.  The structure is designed by a different architect each year, the sometimes odd designs becoming a talking point in the media themselves and this year was no exception with the pavilion being designed by Herzog and de Meuron and Ai Weiwei.  The space is regularly used as an extension to exhibitions, as a theatre or lecture hall space and occasionally hosts a glamorous party or two but never has it been used to host a series of live London themed chat-shows. So this year it was with great pleasure that we accepted the offer to produce Thursday Night Live with Robert Elms...

... over 8 Thursday evenings throughout the summer months we turned the pavilion into a live version of Robert Elm's BBC London radio show, creating an intimate atmosphere of chat, comedy and music all with a London theme in this special London year and guests included Gary Kemp, Sir Paul Smith, Wayne Hemmingway, Suggs, Maxwell Hutchinson and Tanita Tikaram who all entertained an exclusive crowd of very lucky Londoners!

Forever 21 European launch events

This November, Forever 21 launched into Europe with an exclusive party and fashion show in London. The event, hosted by fashion model Amber le Bon - the face of Forever 21's UK launch - was designed and produced by The Persuaders and Shine. The event was held at One Marylebone where the traditional British architecture of the building was filled with the buzz of a Hollywood premier.

Amber Le Bon, who opened and closed the show, said "i'm thrilled to be working with Forever 21 as they prepare to launch in the UK. Whenever i'm in the US I always make time to visit their stores and I know how excited fashion fans in the UK are to have Forever 21 coming to this country."

Food and Drink was provided by creative caterers Nomad who designed a bespoke LA themed menu for the event.

We then all packed our bags and headed north for Birmingham and the surprisingly glamorous Bullring Shopping Centre where the first UK Forever 21 store was launched. Our live mannequins and Amber's surprise cutting of the ribbon where the highlight of the day... not forgetting the thousand strong queues of screaming shopping welcomed into the store!

CLIENT
Glenmorangie/LVMH

PROJECT
Glenmorangie Launch Events

BRIEF
To help ease the recent requisition of Glenmorangie by the LMVH group we were asked to produce guidelines for international launch events.  As creative directors of the guidelines we also designed and produced a number of POS items.  Our work with Glenmorangie also involved producing 2 short films and developing cocktails with the client.

CONCEPT
'A Kaleidoscope for the Senses’ was our initial theme for the look and feel of all the work produced; from the personal bar ‘SenseStation’ to the Glenmorangie dispensing table-top ‘SenseWheel’.

International Women's Day - EQUALS Soul Train

Annie Lennox, VV Brown, Gaby Roslin, Speech Debelle and Paloma Faith do the Soul Train

...well, the day we'd all been working towards finally came around yesterday and i've got to say I feel so proud about everything we achieved... it was an AMAZING day, with a fantastic turn out from both the public and celebrities... it was just so exciting to see Annie Lennox, Paloma Faith, VV Brown, Speech Debelle, and Gaby Roslin doing the EQUALS Soul Train in Jubilee Gardens with a crowd of hundreds cheering them on...

Annie and Paloma

... and we couldn't have asked for a better day, the sun was shining down on us as we set up the DJ's on the open-top bus which doubled as a stage for our celebrity MC's and a place where Annie Lennox could officially kick-off the Soul Train... in fact the set-up for the day was a breeze... one of the best out-door events we've ever done!

... we like to extend thanks to Blue I Event Technology for providing the PA and Sound System, Fisher Productions for the lighting, Albert Hall Dance Floors for the dance-floor, Ensign Bus Company for the fabulous bus and The Southbank Centre for giving us the use of Jubilee Gardens for the day.

We'd also like extend a special thanks to Natasha Khamjani from twitch.uk.com for choreographing at the event for us... we quite literally could not have done the day without her!

International Women's Day 'Soul Train' promo

... today we got our charity groove on at The Cafe de Paris in London where we were filming a promo for a big 'day of dance' happening in Jubilee Gardens, on the South Bank on the 8th March...

... the event has been organised by EQUALS and is a partnership of leading charities brought together by Annie Lennox to celebrate the International Women’s Day centenary. Together the EQUALS coalition will be stepping up the call for a more equal world and prompting a big debate about what inequality looks like today.

... the promo is a call to action and will show participants how to take part and create their own soul train and well as a small history of the whole 'soul train' thang...

... through our magical power of Persuasion we gathered a large number of dancers, choreographers, film crew, lights, a director and even the very kind people at Cafe de Paris who gave their time and talents for free.

... we want the 'soul train' to be an all inclusive dance so we had ballerinas, street-dancers, jazz dancers... even a flamenco dancer... It was a great day, the results of which will be up on the blog in a couple of days.

Glenmorangie Finealta Launch at The Savoy

.... oh the crazy yet glamorous world in which we work... one moment we're in hard-hats and jump-suits, perched high on the side of a building ready to unfurl a banner for the Olympics... the next we're suited and booted at the newly refurbished Savoy Hotel... surrounded by swathes of fabric and plush upholstery to launch the new Private Edition range for Glenmorangie... this new creation is called Finealta and is the brainchild of the incredible 'nose' of Glenmorangie, Dr. Bill Lumsden... it's an honour to be in this mans presence... a whisky creator extraordinaire...

.... Dr. Bill was inspired to create Finealta after discovering an old cocktail recipe from the infamous American Bar at The Savoy that dated back to the 1900s... the Belle Epoque... and it was the Art Nouveau period that inspired our production for the event, from the Edwardian themed costumes and elegant, Savoy Ballroom styled flowers.... through to the period appropriate music played by the string quartet...

... we even built a bespoke curiosity cabinet, based on the art nouveau packaging design, where Dr Bill could display his many curios and accoutrement's of whisky creation, from a block of peat to pearls of grains and even a picture of his cat, the very handsome Morangie the ginger tom!

... The Savoy was at it's very finest, newly refurbished, elegant best... we worked closely with the head chef James Pare to create an 8 course canape menu, served course by course to the guests... each canape found it's inspiration not only from the tasting notes for Finalta but also from the Savoy archivists descriptions of the way food was served in The Savoy in the 1900s.

rachel barrie, master blender

We were also fortunate enough to work alongside head barman of the American Bar, Erik Lorincz, who created the Smoke and Mirrors cocktail specifically for our event, the serving of the cocktail, which is 'smoked' into the glass, was a spectacular way to round off the evening!

what they're saying about us

Thanks again to Dominic, Andy and all the team for making this happen. To go from initial conversation to delivery in two weeks was just amazing - and to take my original brief / idea and so quickly refine and come back with the exceptional proposal was genuinely an absolutely excellent performance and very inspiring to see.

Given this meeting was my first exposure to many of the senior management teams that attended it also created just the personal impact I was looking for.

Laurence Bannister, European Targin Launch Leader
Mundipharma International

I worked with The Persuaders in early 2010 on a high profile event management and branding project for Beefeater 24, the Super Premium Gin brand owned by Pernod Ricard,  I found the team to be highly professional at all times, making themselves available when necessary and often at short notice whilst working to tight timelines and budgets.

The Persuaders took a passionate interest in getting under the skin of Beefeater 24 as a brand in order to help to deliver a super premium experience for the consumer along with high quality, luxury branding at the event itself.

The event they ultimately created helped to bring the brand to life through a brand experience activity, and was the most successful interpretation of the brand since it's launch in October 2008.  We now have tools to create other similar events and images from the event which will be used as best practice to share with our global marketing teams, most important when trying to build a globally consistent, super premium spirit brand.  I look forward to working with the team on future projects and would highly recommend them to other clients looking to build brand equity through premium events and branded materials.'

Nicola Connolly,
Global Senior Brand Manager
Beefeater 24

It wasn’t long after my first project with The Persuaders that they became my event and production partners of choice.

In the 7 years that I have worked with them, we have collaborated on the most diverse range of briefs – from low budget spoof garden parties in rain and mud to five star gala awards epitomizing sustainability to pan-international events amidst Paris Fashion Week.

Whatever the brief or budget, their approach has been the same. The Persuaders consistently deliver creativity and industry mastery as well as competitive cost models. They are always solution-focused, no matter the challenge (of which there are always many) and are well connected within the industry. In the rare occasion they don’t have a solution, they always know someone who does.

Their professionalism is first class. They absolutely understand client dynamics and diplomacy and I often been happy to connect them directly to my most senior clients.

My experience of The Persuaders is that they pride themselves in being partners versus just “suppliers”. They bring energy, enthusiasm, flexibility and value to every project and have always been a joy to work with.

Gina Jones, Associate Director
H+K Strategies

Happy 15th Birthday, Persuaders!

Best wishes to a fantastic team of people who deliver great ideas and great execution every time, and are also wonderful to work with.  May your teen years offer you even more success and fun.

Claire Davies, Senior Associate Director
H+K Strategies

The Persuaders became an integral part of our business, delivering and leading our brand image through design, photography and guidelines, as well as fulfilling our need for a global, lead production agency.

Their combination of aesthetic vision, quality delivery and professionalism ensured that they became a true partner.

Richard Brett, Global VP, Marketing & Communications
Samsonite

We have worked with The Persuaders on many projects over a number of years.  They are always fantastically creative and produce stylish and sleek events which run without a hitch.  Most importantly, they are brilliant fun to work with

Sarah Ellison Senior Sponsorship and Events Manager
The Guardian News and Media

We have worked with The Persuaders on several events over the last 5 years both in the UK and internationally and have always been happy with the results.

The Persuaders are able to work quickly and come up with creative idea to really enhance the event experience as well as executing events to a high quality standard

House of Bosch event

The lovely chaps at Bosch are giving the cream of DIY and lifestyle media a sneak peek at the 2011 range.

Bosch asked The Persuaders to put their fantastic styling skills to use and create a home from home in which to display the products and demonstrate the new range.

Armed with the full range of power tools The Persuaders set to transforming the central London venue Home Sweet Home. With the IXO power tool for women in the bedroom, the Quigo decorating tool in the dining room (it stencils and has a special laser to hang photos in the exactly right spot), the Lithium Ion to saw, sand, cut or scrape in the living room and my personal favourite, in the kitchen, the Ixo Vio for opening bottles of wine - genius.

It was literally the dream cosy home, a retreat from the snowy weather outside, complete with purpose built fire place, just in time for santa to deliver my Swarovski adorned drill!

Talk Talk Bright Start Studio launch event

Ahh Jedward... bless 'em... the annoyingly cheeky chaps from 2009's X Factor... who knew they had legions (and by legions we mean quite literally THOUSANDS) of adoring fans...

Talk Talk brought them on-board to promote their continuing sponsorship of the X Factor for 2010 and the launch of their new Bright Star Studio which, unless you've been living under a rock... or pretend to be one of those 'grown-up' types that never watch the X Factor, you'll recognise from the opening titles and ad-breaks during the shows broadcasts.

We spent a crazy day with them at the Talk Talk Customer Service Centre in central London where they sang with their fans and wracked up thousands of Bright Star Studio 'moments'...

...we designed and built a series of 'living room' sets where patient fans sat and waited for their turn with Jedward in the studio... and what a crazy mixed bunch they were!
